  • la réforme du droit relatif à la mise à disposition des données publiques ;

*Data Lenses (part of the LIVE Singapore! initiative)...*

Data provided by the Land Transport Authority enable the accurate monitoring of bus activity at bus stops in Singapore. Due to the large volume of data, exploring the information at individual bus stops while also maintaining their geographic context is a challenge for the visualization.

The data lenses proposed here are an interactive visualization tool to address this situation. The lens acts like a magnifying glass allowing the user to uncover layers of information that reveal at great detail the activity of Singapore's bus network.

*The Copenhagen Wheel - Teaser...*

THE COPENHAGEN WHEEL
Smart, responsive and elegant, the Copenhagen Wheel is a new emblem for urban mobility. It transforms ordinary bicycles quickly into hybrid e-bikes that also function as mobile sensing units. The Copenhagen Wheel allows you to capture the energy dissipated while cycling and braking and save it for when you need a bit of a boost. It also maps pollution levels, traffic congestion, and road conditions in real-time.
SENSE and SUSTAINABILITY
Controlled through your smart phone, the Copenhagen Wheel becomes a natural extension of your everyday life. You can use your phone to unlock and lock your bike, change gears and select how much the motor assists you. As you cycle, the wheels sensing unit is also capturing your effort level and information about your surroundings, including road conditions, carbon monoxide, NOx, noise, ambient temperature and relative humidity. Access this data through your phone or the web and use it to plan healthier bike routes, to achieve your exercise goals or to meet up with friends on the go. You can also share your data with friends, or with your city - anonymously if you wish thereby contributing to a fine-grained database of environmental information from which we can all benefit.
ABOUT the PROJECT
The project was conceived and developed by the SENSEable City Lab for the Kobenhavns Kommune. The prototype bikes were realized with the help of our technical partner Ducati Energia and funding from the Ministry for the Environment. Progical Solutions LLC provided technical support for the iphone control of the bikes.

The components of the project are an electric bicycle wheel that can be easily retrofitted into any regular bicycle and location and environmental sensors which are powered by the bike wheel and in turn provide data for a variety of applications.

The Copenhagen Wheel project demonstrates that small intelligent implementations can lead to major ch

*Trains of Data | Isochronic France*

The Senseable City Lab has partnered with the SNCF division for research and innovation to investigate new ways of gaining insight into how people access different parts of France using the country's high speed railway system. Today's transportation networks are densely packed with sensors and digital systems to facilitate routine operations. The two visual applications below combine several data sets generated by these systems to provide new perspectives on how France moves on rail.

. isochronic france
As train schedules, wait times between connections and delays vary throughout the day and over the course of a week, travel time between any location and the rest of the country changes constantly. In this visualization, deformations are proportional to travel time and reveal the changes in the course of a one week period. Users can select any one location as their origin to explore what cities can be reached within specific travel times. The interface allows users to access the information for a specific time or visualize this information over the course of a week.

*Trains of Data | Trains in Time...*

The Senseable City Lab has partnered with the SNCF division for research and innovation to investigate new ways of gaining insight into how people access different parts of France using the country's high speed railway system. Today's transportation networks are densely packed with sensors and digital systems to facilitate routine operations. The two visual applications below combine several data sets generated by these systems to provide new perspectives on how France moves on rail.

. trains in time
Trains, at times, do run late. While a rail network operator is interested in reducing overall delay as such, an especially critical aspect relates to the number of passengers directly affected by such delays and their location.
In this visualization we combine data on the time trains run behind schedule with the actual number of passengers on any train at any moment. This information is represented at the actual location of a train on SNCF's high speed rail network. With this, a rail operator can quickly understand where many passengers are affected by train delays and use this information to take appropriate action, ultimately limiting delay per passenger and increasing overall passenger satisfaction.

*Digital Agenda for Europe*

Digital Agenda for Europe
The Digital Agenda for Europe is the European Union’s roadmap for bringing the benefits of a digital society and economy to Europe’s citizens. But it can only deliver if all stakeholders are involved in assessing problems and identifying solutions.

Overarching to the Social Media Strategy project there’s the Digital Agenda Assembly website that is created to connect, discuss and collaborate the Digital Agenda Assembly 2012 (“DAA12″), on 21-22 June in Brussels, as well as the review of the Digital Agenda for Europe (“DAE”), planned for adoption in October.
The main objectives of the Assembly are to:
  • Assess progress to date on implementation towards the Digital Agenda’s goals and actions and seek ways to improve delivery;
  • Identify challenges ahead for the implementation of the Digital Agenda and for the information society in general;
  • Mobilise stakeholders’ actions to make further progress and address challenges.
